Today we hear quite often the phrase Internet of Things, but most may not know what it means. Internet of Things is a catchall term for the countless internet connected devices that have become a staple in our everyday lives. These are electronics that are connected to the internet as well as each other. We may think of it as the tablet that we use to access a virtual desktop for work or the phone we use to check our bank balance. The magnitude of it’s capabilities is rapidly becoming a prominent tech topic. The US Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation has called hearings to discuss the impact of this ever-growing connection.
The Internet of Things is ever expanding as new items flood the market and include everything from internet connected cars that can send you a message on your phone if they are dented in a parking lot to internet-friendly toothbrushes. Things that we have only imagined in movies are soon going to be part of our everyday lives.
